Assembly of CARN8, a metagenome from Carnoulès acid mine drainage metagenomic and metatranscriptomic data.. Carnoulès Metagenome 8 Metagenomic/Metatranscriptomic Assembly

Following the identification in Carnoulès metagenomic sequences (Bertin et al. 2011) of a full rRNA 16S sequence with 99% identity with the 16S sequence of Ferrovum myxofaciens P3G, we have assembled from metagenomic and metatranscriptomic data the draft genome sequence of an uncultivated acidophilic betaproteobacterium probably belonging to the Ferrovum genus in the family of Ferrovaceae, whose iron oxidizer members have been frequently identified in acid mine drainages.
