Identification and expression of detoxification genes provide insights into host adaptation of the walnut pest Atrijuglans aristata

The goal was to identify differentially expressed genes by comparative transcriptome analysis of Atrijuglans aristata larvae before and after starvation treatment. To be specific, the larvae (with a body length of about 6~7 mm) were taken from the fruits and starved for 24 h. Their guts were then dissected and placed in sterile and enzyme-free tubes as the treatment group. In the control group, larvae of the same body length were selected from the fruit and their guts were directly dissected with no starvation treatment. The guts of five larvae were used as a replicate, and three replicates were performed for control and treat group.
