VPRS 12673 File Movement Sheets

The Public Works Department (VA 669) had wide-ranging responsibilities for all public works and buildings, including construction, maintenance and fitting out of these buildings. Other major responsibilities included roads and bridges, ports and harbours, local government and water supply.The Department operated with a Registry system for the registration and control of correspondence. This record was a means whereby the movement of correspondence could be tracked and accounted for.This series consists of printed pro form with columns for the Number of the paper and the date received and for the date returned. This record relates to the movement of pieces of correspondence between the Registry and the responsible action officers. These dates of movement were recorded in the Registers of Correspondence.VPRS 12673/P1 was previously registered as VPRS 966 unit 39. It was reserialised in 2001 as part of the ARAD Project.
