Japanese flounder (Paralichthys olivaceus) is one of the most important commercial food fish, and has been widely cultured in Asian countries such as Japan, Korea and China. However, in these countries, the Japanese flounder aquaculture industry has facing the threat of many diseases. Thus, to gain insight into the immune mechanism and further perform molecular breeding for these diseases in Japanese flounder, we carried out the whole genome sequence and further develop comparative genomics analysis of Japanese flounder.
