Antarctic Medicine, Physiology and Anthropology (MEDIANTAR): Salivary Microbiota

The primary objective of MEDIANTAR is to evaluate the effect of staying in the Antarctic field, staying in the Brazilian base in Antarctica (at the Antarctic Station Comandante Ferraz -EACF) and the naval confinement of people who spend up to 6 months on polar ships, on autonomic regulation (through hormonal measurements, immunological variables and cardiovascular parameters), circadian rhythm and intestinal microbiota in civilians and military personnel in extreme environments. These environments, such as camps, ships and research stations, fall under the acronym ICE: isolated, confined and extreme.
