16s rRNA sequencing to assess the effect of gastrodin on gut microbiota composition of Alzheimer's mouse model

Gastrodin is known to exhibit neuroprotective effects in Alzheimer's disease. However, the detailed mechanism of action is still unclear. The present study focused on investigating the mechanism of action of gastrodin via the microbiota-gut-brain axis by using D-galactose (Dgal)-induced Alzheimer's disease model. The results in this study indicates that Gastrodin improves the memory of Alzheimer's mouse model via partly targeting the microbiota-gut-brain axis and mitigating neuron inflammation.
