Satellite-derived products from Himawari-8 satellite regridded to the Aus400 domain. This dataset contains derived satellite observations of cloud properties over the Australian region at 10-minutes temporal resolution and 1 km spatial resolution. The regrided dataset is produced using the Geostationary Cloud Algorithm Testbed (Geocat) together with pre-processed ancillary data. The cloud properties were calculated with temporal resolution 10 minutes using the full-disk domain for 00:00 UTC 26 March 2017 to 23:50 UTC 28 March 2017; then, the information was reprojected to a regular latitude/longitude grid over the AUS400 domain. The variables included are: - Cloud top pressure: CTP_ACHA_Mode_8 - Cloud top temperature: CTT_ACHA_Mode_8 - Cloud optical depth (VIS): COD_ACHA_Mode_8 - Brightness temperature Channel 13 (10.4 μm spectral band): BT_CH_13_HMW8 The tool used to apply Geocat is described here: http://cimss.ssec.wisc.edu/csppgeo/geocat.htmlhttp://cimss.ssec.wisc.edu/csppgeo/geocat.html. The input data are Himawari-8 AHI retrievals v1.3, freely available from the Japanese Meteorological Agency.
