Wellhead Protection Areas

The Wellhead Protection Areas and Source Water Delineations Feature Layer provides mapped boundaries of protected areas around public drinking water sources in New Hampshire. It includes both Phase I and Phase II WHPAs for groundwater systems and watershed delineations for surface water intakes and groundwater under the direct influence of surface water. A 500-foot radius is used for protection around transient water systems. Managed by NHDES, the layer supports source water protection, land use planning, and regulatory activities.
