16S rRNA gene sequences obtained from faecal samples from multiple bird species.

The goal of the study was to evaluate the efficacy of two different preservation methods and five different DNA extraction approaches for obtaining microbial DNA of high quantity and high quality from faecal microbiotas of multiple bird faeces and assessing the microbial diversity to see if different combinations of preservation method and extraction approach had an effect on the returned microbial community composition.
