"Field-Recorded Voltage and Current Measurements from Shunt Capacitor Bank Energization Events"

"This dataset comprises real-world voltage and current measurements recorded during nine energization events involving five distinct shunt capacitor banks. These banks operate at various voltage levels and have different reactive power ratings. The measurements were recorded at high-voltage transmission substations within the Brazilian Interconnected System between 2022 and 2023. All data is provided in easy-to-use CSV files, and the measurements were collected directly from field instrumentation devices without any processing applied to the signals. This real-world data can be utilized for various analyses, including estimating the actual reactive power supplied by each shunt capacitor bank after energization, calculating voltage and current phasors, and comparing the measured waveforms with those derived from simulated electromagnetic transients. It is hoped that this dataset will support and inspire further research on capacitor bank switching phenomena and other related studies in power systems."
