LAION-EO is a satellite imagery dataset created by Φ-lab of the European Space Agency. Sourced from public web resources, it contains high-resolution satellite images and their paired textual descriptions. The dataset was ultimately constructed by screening similar satellite images from LAION-5B with CloudSEN12 as the anchor dataset, after multiple rounds of filtering and similarity calculation. It is primarily used for training and optimizing vision-language models in the field of Earth observation, to enhance the understanding and processing capabilities of online satellite images.
