Real spreading processes in multilayer networks (A multilayer network dataset of interaction and influence spreading in a virtual world)

The presented dataset contains records of five dissemination activities that occurred on a virtual world platform. Users distributed avatars to one another during these activities. The processes vary in terms of time and scale, and are either incentivized or non-incentivized. Corresponding event records are associated with each activity. This dataset can be used to construct multi-layer networks to contextualize the dissemination activities within a broader environment. To the best of the authors' knowledge, this is the first publicly available dataset that contains a complete, real-world multi-layer social network alongside five full propagation processes occurring within it.
