Viral metagenome from marine sponges Metagenome

This study comprises the analysis of sponge viruses by performing metaviromic sequencing on 15 ecologically important coral reef sponge species from the Great Barrier Reef and the Red Sea. Multivariate statistical analysis revealed host-specific and site-specific patterns in the viral assemblages and elucidated an important role for the viral community in environmental acclimatisation of their hosts.
