Shotgun metagenomic sequencing of soil microbiomes from 32 grass-clover paddocks in Ireland

This project describes shotgun metagenomic sequencing of soil samples collected from 32 grazed pasture paddocks in Ireland. DNA was extracted from soil samples (10 cm depth) and sequenced using Illumina paired-end technology. The study aims to characterise microbial community composition, diversity, and functional potential across paddocks. Negative extraction and library preparation controls were included. Raw sequencing reads are deposited in the SRA.
