Transposable elements (TEs) are pervasive genomic components largely understudied and misrepresented in proteomic databases. Here, we leverage methylation mutants, which overexpress a diverse set of TE proteins, to quantify and identify TE-encoded products and their regulation in the model plant Arabidopsis thaliana.
