资源简介:
The USF, College of Marine Science, Ocean Circulation Group under the direction of Dr. R.H. Weisberg is maintaining an array of moored instruments on the west Florida shelf for in-situ measurements of currents, temperature, salinity, surface meteorology, and sea level. Our field work also includes participation in monthly hydrographic cruises. In addition to the field work we are running numerical ocean
circulation model experiments on the west Florida shelf in collaboration with the biological modeling group headed by Dr. J. Walsh.
Purpose:
The physical oceanography portion of the ECOHAB Florida Program is directed at describing and understanding the role of the west Florida shelf circulation in the generation, maintenance, and dissipation of red tide blooms.
