The MEP pathway key enzyme HDS participates in chloroplast RNA editing

We identified a T-DNA insertion mutant (SALKseq_046132) named hds that disrupted the hydroxy-2-methyl-2-(E)-butenyl4-diposphate synthase (HDS) gene of the methylerythritol phosphate (MEP) pathway. In order to gain better resolution of transcriptomic changes in the hds mutant, we performed ribosomal RNA-depleted RNA sequencing analysis of RNA extracted from 10-day-old seedlings of the hds mutant and the wild type. Three biological replicates were used for RNA sequencing analysis. mRNA expression profiles were generated by deep sequencing using Illumina NovaSeq 6000.
