Most popular messenger apps worldwide 2024, by downloads

In July 2024, mobile instant chat Telegram was the most downloaded mobile messenger app worldwide, with over 48 million downloads. Mobile communication app WhatsApp ranked second with approximately 46 million downloads, while Meta-owned chat and communication app Messenger ranked third with approximately 26 million download worldwide.
