Riparian Rehabilitation / Upper Nerang River / Revegetation Project

The project aims to restore habitat and raise community awareness of the importance of riparian vegetation. Rehabilitation work (weed eradication and planting of endemic species sourced from local seed) at 3 separate sites in the riparian zone of the Upper Nerang River in Numinbah Valley. Total of 3,000 plants over a 15 hectare area. All sites are on Queensland crown land (National Park and Transport and Main Roads) and highly visible to local and visiting community. Three community days (2 planting days, 1 information day) will be conducted to maximise knowledge of the project.

Project also includes native plant propagation, block wall construction and landscaping work at the Numinbah Valley Environmental Education Centre.
