Altered gut microbiome promoted by claudin 2 deletion in a murine sepsis model

Claudin 2 has an impact on microbiome through a transport of water and electrolytes, possibly affecting consequences on pathophysiology and mortality in sepsis. Our aims of this study were to investigate the influence of claudin 2 deficiency on transport of water and small molecules, the change of microbiome, and contribution of altered microbiome on survival rate during sepsis.
