The microbiome of wheat and rice with manipulated membrane transporters and release of organic exudates

The present study examined whether the microbial communities on the roots of rice and wheat can be manipulated in a consistent manner by altering the activity of membrane transporters and the release of organic exudates. We also assessed how exudates from the root apices shifted the microbiome structure throughout the root system.
