N. gonorrhoeae isolates with reduced ceftriaxone susceptibility

This study characterizes novel mutations associated with reduced cephalosporin susceptibility in clinical isolates of Neisseria gonorrhoeae. These mutations were transformed into gonococcal strains in the laboratory. Genomic sequencing of resistant transformants was performed to identify the particular mutations responsible for the reduced susceptibility phenotype. RNA-seq was then performed on these strains to characterize the effects of the mutations on transcriptional profiles.
