Extreme Climate Loss Dataset of Hainan Island
收藏资源简介:
This dataset provides estimates of economic losses from three types of extreme climate events on Hainan Island, China: drought, heatwave, and heavy rain. The losses were quantified in Chinese Yuan (CNY) using a nonlinear dynamic process loss model based on multi-source data including GDP, temperature, precipitation, and land use. Model parameters were optimized (R² > 0.85) using records from the China Meteorological Disaster Yearbook, the Hainan Province Reservoir Operation and Management Bulletin, and the Flood and Drought Disaster Prevention Bulletin. To achieve high spatial precision, 1 km resolution land use and GDP data were applied for spatial downscaling of losses from different disasters. The dataset covers the entire Hainan Island with a temporal span from 1970 to 2020, a monthly temporal resolution, and a spatial resolution of 1 km. It is stored in NetCDF format and includes monthly loss data for all three types of extreme climate events. This dataset can support research on climate change impacts, disaster risk assessment, and regional adaptation strategies.
