资源简介:
Among the most versatile and robust dominant species in fermented foods, Lactiplantibacillus (Lpb.) plantarum is considered safe for humans and is included in the Qualified Presumption of Safety (QPS) list of the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) and is Generally Recognized As Safe (GRAS) by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) agency. Some foodborne Lpb. plantarum strains have been reported to demonstrate resilience in the gastrointestinal (GI) tract and a considerable body of evidence has substantiated the therapeutic potential of Lpb. plantarum as dietary interventions aimed at alleviating a series of symptoms of neurological diseases, including ASD. The psychobiotic effect of several Lactic Acid Bacteria (LAB), including the species Lpb. plantarum, has been tested in different mouse models and has shown to be potentially valuable in rescuing behavioural deficits in environmentally-based mouse models of Autism spectrum disorders (ASDs).
