The aim of this study was to determine whether the complexity of the animal soil food web (CSFW) is a significant factor influencing the productivity of the willow, the soil microbial communities and the degradation rates of 100 mg kg-1 phenanthrene contamination compared to 0 mg kg-1 control pots. The CSFW treatment had eight levels: microbial community (BF), nematodes (N), springtails (C), earthworms (E), CN, EN, CE, CEN.
