VPRS 6910 Inwards Correspondence, Geodetic Survey

This series contains correspondence, observations and reports forwarded by surveyors employed on the Geodetic Survey of Victoria to the Surveyor-General C. Ligar and the Government Astronomer R Ellery. Ellery was also the Superintendent of the Geodetic Survey.Correspondence contains a recounting of the experiences of the surveyors as they carried out the survey, descriptions of their difficulties and achievements and matters to do with the supply of stores and equipment. Other papers give day by day notations of the activities of the survey party and descriptions of the areas in which the party was working. Papers were sent from areas throughout Victoria.
