Replication data, results and script: Digitalisation and the Limits of Economic Performance: Evidence of Diminishing Returns Across Countries

This repository contains the data, R code, and full statistical output needed to reproduce all results, tables, and figures reported in the manuscript "Digitalisation and the Limits of Economic Performance: Evidence of Diminishing Returns Across Countries". Using a two-way fixed-effects panel of 35 countries (2010–2021), the study examines the direct relationship between digitalisation and economic performance, alongside sustainability. It finds robust evidence that digitalisation exhibits diminishing direct returns to GDP per capita, consistent across four model specifications and three independent inference methods (cluster-robust, CR2 bias-corrected, and Driscoll-Kraay standard errors). Sustainability is positively associated with economic performance, though less robustly so, and exploratory evidence for a moderating role of digitalisation on the sustainability-performance relationship is not robust across inference methods.
