资源简介:
GLP-1 and GLP-2 (GLPs) are intestinal hormones with a key role in the homeostatic regulation of glucose metabolism and food intake. Their secretion by intestinal cells in response to food ingestion is impaired in obese subjects. Whether this disturbance is linked to obesity-induced dysbiosis remains uncertain. We aimed to evaluate the effects of bariatric surgery in morbidly obese subjects on changes in the microbiota and in the intestinal permeability, the incretin secretory pattern and the metainflammatory state in the baseline and 6 months after surgery. Comparative metagenomic analysis of gut microbial community composition and functionality and meal response of GLPs were explored before and at 6-months of follow-up. Our data first point out a clear link between gut microbiota and GLPs secretion, which might have future implications in microbiota-targeted therapies for obesity and T2D management
