资源简介:
This study investigates the involvement and importance of cell-cell communication during clownfish color patterning by analyzing the pet shop mutant strain Snowflake. We conducted GWAS of 40 siblings from a Snowflake cross (20 phenotypic wild-type and 20 phenotypic Snowflake). After identifying the gene responsible for the Snowflake phenotype, we conducted transcriptomic analysis across all 7 post-embryonic developmental stages to determine the expression profile during development. Moreover, transcriptomes for color specific (white, orange, and black) samples from scales and skin were created to analyze spatial expression in the different pigment cells. This dataset is associated with the following publication: "The clownfish Snowflake mutation reveals cell-cell communication as an underlying principle governing color pattern formation in teleost fishes.
