JPEel Assembly 2.0. Anguilla japonica isolate:AJA002

The whole genome shotgun (WGS) sequencing project for Anguilla japonica, cataloged under the accession number CAKAEG000000000.1, has culminated in the creation of an updated genome version. This new version incorporates additional long reads obtained through the Pacbio SEQUEL IIe SYSTEM for Long-read sequencing. Originating from the preliminary draft assembly PRJEB25708, this enhanced assembly was produced using a suite of tools, including ALLPATHS-LG, SSPACE, GapCloser, and Canu. The updated genome encompasses roughly 1.22Gb, structured into 732 scaffolds, and boasts an N50 value of over 68.62Mb. A thorough assessment conducted with BUSCO v5.1.2, utilizing the actinopterygii_odb10 lineage dataset, indicated that 92.7% of the assembly's best matches are consistent with the Actinopterygii taxonomic category.
