Nestlé S.A. had sales of approximately 103.9 billion U.S. dollars in 2023, making them the leading snack and bakery product company in the world by a comfortable margin. By comparison, PepsiCo stood in second place that year, with sales of about 86.4 billion dollars.Dollar sales growth of chocolate nibblesMilk chocolate was unrivaled in terms of U.S. confectionery dollar sales growth: compared to the previous year, milk chocolate sales in the United States grew by over 300 million U.S. dollars. Ranking second, sales of chewy candy grew by roughly 65 million U.S. dollars. Several product categories, such as non-chocolate bars and hard candy, generated fewer sales in 2019 than in 2018.Meaty snacks in c-storesJack Link’s, a meat snacks company best known for making beef jerky, accounted for nearly half of all meat snack sales in U.S. convenience stores in 2019. Roughly a fifth of the dollar sales was accounted for by Slim Jim, Jack Link’s top competitor. Each of the brands generated over 300 million U.S. dollars’ worth of dried meat sticks sales in American c-stores that year.
