Results of an eDNA survey from the Blasket island SAC

Environmental (e)DNA is a powerful emerging tool with the capabilitiy of enhancing marine biodiversity monitoring and surveys. Here we display a data set obtained from amplification of the 12S barcode region from water samples surroundign the Blasket Island SAC. This area represents an important marine ecosystem in Ireland. This data set provides a baseline record of species recorded in the area with eDNA metabarcoding and can inform future research as well as policy makers.
