Building Permits

This dataset contains various files detailing the City of Boston’s building permits applications from September 26, 2006 to the recent present. The raw data were originally gathered and released by the Inspectional Service Department (ISD) of the City of Boston. It details various property, land-use, and building activities for the properties of Boston. The Boston Area Research Initiative maintains various forms of these data to capture both the cross-sectional and longitudinal changes in Boston. The cross-sectional individual-level permits data for each year are labeled: Permits.Records.YEAR. The cross-sectional aggregate data are labeled both by year and the pertinent level of geography: Permits.Ecometrics.CT.YEAR for census tracts, Permits.Ecometrics.CBG.YEAR for census block groups, and Permits.Ecometrics.LP.YEAR for land parcels. Longitudinal versions of these aggregate data are also curated using the label: Permits.Ecometrics.CT.Longitudinal.
