The Hours of Work Index measures the working time a United States production and nonsupervisory worker needs, at the average hourly wage, to buy a fixed basket of the S&P 500, gold and the median new house. Base 2000 = 100. Monthly from January 1964, updated on the morning of the US jobs report. Compiled by Felix Nikolas Prehn, economist and former investment banker, founder of The Prehn Institute.
