PSYCHOLOGICAL CHARACTERISTICS OF ACADEMIC PROCRASTINATION IN STUDENTS AND ITS IMPACT ON EDUCATIONAL EFFECTIVENESS

This article analyzes the psychological characteristics of academic procrastination among students in higher educational institutions of Uzbekistan. During the study, students’ tendencies to delay academic tasks, their motivation levels, time management skills, and stress factors were examined. A total of 214 students from higher education institutions in Tashkent, Samarkand, and Bukhara regions participated in the research. The results showed that procrastination is widespread among students and is especially associated with decreased motivation, perceiving tasks as difficult, and rapid distraction of attention. The article also develops psychological recommendations aimed at reducing academic procrastination.
