VPRS 14717 Permissive Occupancy Files, Lower Glenelg National Park

This series consists of files relating to Riverfront Occupancy of the Lower Glenelg River in the area covered by the National Park. Files contain correspondence relating to the occupancy including matters such as structures on the land and the payment of fees.The Lower Glenelg National Park was proclaimed in December 1969 under the National Parks (Amendment) Act 1969. Section 12 of the Act provided that the Minister of Lands might grant persons occupying land immediately prior to the Act the right to continue in that occupation with permits to be granted until 1983 under the terms and conditions set out and upon the payment of fees.
