A transcriptional analysis investigated differences between three red-skinned and two white-skinned cultivars under water deficit: Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, and Semillon. Grape berry skins were sampled and sequenced at four specific °Brix (soluble sugar) levels: 20°, 22°, 24°, and 26°. This work complements project PRJNA260535 (BioProject accession SRP046456), where we survey seven cultivars. In this analysis, we also investigated how water deficit affects transcription in five cultivars.
