Lepidoptera (butterflies and moths; Class Insecta) were sampled in southwestern Germany within and nearby the UNESCO biosphere reserve of the Palatinate forest / North Vosges. This low mountain range belongs to the “western highlands” ecoregion, and is part of the “Western European broadleaf forests”.
