Mancos Black-on-white (Dogoszhi style), flat bottom bowl, Accession AZRU-00001 Catalog #988. Morris FS 5347. Analyzed by Lori Reed 2011. Exterior surface is basket impressed; bowl was constructed in a basket. Temper is sherd and granular igneous rock suggesting manufacture in the Middle San Juan region. Vessel is 100% complete with 50% reconstructed with unknown plaster material. Measurements: 20.3 cm diameter, 14.8 cm height. Image AZRU1-988 A: exterior view showing basket impressions. Recovered from Earl Morris excavation of refuse below Room 14, Aztec West Ruin. Earl Morris’ description of Room 14 at the time of excavation is as follows. “Room 14 seemed to have been used very little. On the relatively clean floor were a double sandstone mortar and a handful of sherds 'and animal bones.
