The study focused on investigating the bacterial composition from a 480 cm deep sediment profile from Muierilor Cave, Romania. Bacteria changed with depth, from soil bacteria more abundant in the upper sediment samples to thermophilic/sulfurous bacteria more abundant in the deeper samples.
