Indoor Thermal Physiology Metadata Atlas Dataset

The Indoor Thermal Physiology Metadata Atlas Dataset is a structured metadata corpus of indoor human thermal-physiology experiments in the built-environment and thermal-comfort literature. Version 1.0.0 contains metadata from 273 publications representing 295 unique experiments published between 2013 and 2024. The main dataset contains 2,200 physiological signal–body-site records and 206 metadata variables. The corpus documents publication and study identifiers, experimental context and timing, thermal conditions, participant characteristics, environmental measurements, physiological measurements, questionnaires, cognitive measures, participant-selection criteria, protocol controls, stated limitations, and reporting practices. The main CSV does not contain one row per publication or one row per experiment. Each row represents an experiment × physiological parameter × sensing method × body-site record. Publication- and experiment-level variables are therefore repeated across physiological records. Users should aggregate the data using the identifiers and counting guidance provided in the README and variable dictionary. The dataset distinguishes the following coding states: NR — information not reported in the source publication.MNR — the measure was used, but the requested methodological detail was not reported.NAN — not applicable to that record.NC — unclear, conflicting, or not consistently codable.
