A02 - Individual behaviour in encoding and decoding prosodic prominence - CRC1252 (Prominence in Language)

In this project we explore how the encoding and decoding of prosodic prominence is affected by individual-specific behaviour in linguistic and cognitive terms. We investigate specificity in perspective-taking and the ability to filter out irrelevant information in adults with Autism Spectrum Disorders. Additionally, we study the impact of individual specificity on prosodic typology research, using data from Egyptian Arabic, a language with an allegedly restricted intonational inventory.
