Peri-implantitis environment: assessing microbial and immunological patterns

This study evaluated and compared the microbiome and immunological features of peri-implantitis sites and periodontal pockets. Patients affected by peri-implantitis and patients affected by periodontitis were selected and the biofilm was collected using paper points. At the same sites, fluid was collected for immunological analysis. DNA was extracted and sequenced using the Illumina platform.
