Social contacts, coming to the attention of the police, use of
intoxicants as well as reasons for use of alcohol and nicotine among
schoolchildren, apprentices and young workers.
Topics: The content of the study is largely identical to ZA Studies
No. 0769 and 0770: occurrence of suicide, mental deficiency, alcohol
and intoxicant addiction in family of respondent as well as with
respondent himself; relationship with school and company; favorite
subjects; characterization of family life; frequency of alcohol
intoxication; frequency and type of intoxicants used; last intoxicant
used; age at first use of intoxicants; attempts to stop using
intoxicant; use of cigarettes; attitude to use of intoxicants (scale);
use of intoxicants by reference group; relationship with parents;
school achievements and influence of intoxicants on school
achievements; reasons for use of hashish and switching to other drugs;
effects of use of intoxicants; attitude to prohibition of hashish,
marijuana; reasons for use of drugs; sources of supply for intoxicants;
personal activity as dealer; familiarity of officials and parents with
personal use of intoxicants as well as consequences of this knowledge;
coming to the attention of the police; attitude to drug advice centers;
assessment of the social system; violence as political means; type of
organization of leisure time; practice of meditation; attendance of
leisure facilities; delinquency questions; age at first use of
cigarettes, use of alcohol and first sexual intercourse; chronology of
drug career; interest in new intoxicants; monthly costs for use of
intoxicants; normal use of medications and contraceptive pill; age of
father.
In addition the following questions were posed: excessive use of
alcohol by parents and friends; junkie friends; leisure behavior;
parental supervision of going out in the evening and friendships.
Image of alcohol intoxication and hashish euphoria; reading habits and
judgement on reporting of daily newspapers about intoxicants.
Scales: health orientation, social orientation, sociability, attitudes
to parents and adults.
Demography: age; sex; school education; interest in politics; social
origins.
