This dataset provides spatial distribution data of land use types in Banan District, Chongqing, China, in 2016. The data is in vector format, with attribute fields including land code, land type and others. The secondary land use types include paddy field, dry land, closed forest land, shrub land, sparse forest land, other forest land, high-coverage grassland, medium-coverage grassland, low-coverage grassland, rivers and canals, lakes, reservoirs and ponds, permanent glaciers and snowfields, tidal flats, beach lands, urban land, rural residential areas, other construction land, sandy land, gobi, saline-alkali land, marshland, bare land, bare rock and gravel land, and others. Specifically, cultivated land (i.e., paddy fields and dry lands) is further categorized by landforms into four groups: mountainous, hilly, plain, and slopes with a gradient greater than 25 degrees. The scale of this dataset is 1:100,000.
