Biogas is a renewable energy source than can be generated from biomass via anaerobic digestion. A complex microbial consortium carries out the process. The goal of this study was to evaluate how temperature can affect the microbial community and the biogas performance. This was tested by running CSTR (lab scale reactor) under meso- and thermophilic temperatures, and with inducing temperature shifts/shock. Additionally, recirculation of effluent was tested at different temperatures.
