Digital violence against selected female South African journalists

This qualitative content analysis study employed purposive sampling to consider the engagement on the Twitter accounts of three women who work in the South African news media landscape. The women are renowned news media professionals, and each has won several awards for their journalistic work over the years. The three are active in the radio, television, print and online news media. The women’s expertise as journalists ranges from health, legal, political, and generalist reporting.
