资源简介:
Between 2 November 2009 and 15 January 2010, Brockington and Associates conducted intensive cultural resources survey of a total of 6,072 acres at four different reservoirs in north-central Mississippi and of 690 acres at one reservoir in southwest Arkansas. This project was conducted under Contract No. W912P9-09-D-0537 with the U.S. Army Corps of engineers, St. Louis District (Corps) as part of an American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) program enacted by Congress in 2009. During field survey, we recorded a total of 29 previously unidentified archaeological sites, ten isolated archaeological finds, and three architectural structures, and attempted to revisit all previously recorded cultural resources. We recommend all 29 archaeological sites and three architectural structures identified during our survey to be ineligible for listing on the NRHP. The Hardeman Cemetery and the Williams Cemetery do not possess sufficient architectural merit to warrant inclusion on the NRHP under Criterion C, but additional research is recommended to determine NRHP-eligibility under criteria A, B, and D. This ARRA-funded task order employed 45 specialists for a period of 16 months. Section 110 Survey of 6,90 Acres at the DeGray Reservoir, Hot Springs and Clark Counties, Arkansas.
