Aurora Australis Voyage 6 2000-2001 Underway Data

This dataset contains the underway data collected during the Aurora Australis Voyage 6 2000-01. This was a marine science voyage that visited Mawson, Casey and Davis prior to returning to Hobart. Underway (meteorological, fluorometer, thermosalinograph and bathymetric) data are available online via the Australian Antarctic Division Data Centre web page (or via the Related URL section). From the Voyage Leader's Report:The principal objectives of the voyage were to carry out marine science research into distribution patterns of krill and zooplankton in the Adelie penguin foraging zone north of Mawson (PN 1250 - Krill fine scale survey) and oceanography of the Amery Ice Shelf area in support of AMISOR (PN 1058).Additional objectives were:1) Support other science programs in support of or independent of the two main projects.2) Deliver expeditioners to Mawson and Davis stations.3) Retrieval of personnel from Davis, plus essential science gear and samples, retrieval of two S-76 helicopters.4) Assist Polar Bird at Casey - this objective was assigned during the course of the voyage.
