资源简介:
The microbiome's influence on the pathogenesis of inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) has recently been in the spotlight. Currently, the exact role of gut microbiota alterations in canine chronic enteropathies and the impact of treatment on it are not well established. This study aimed to investigate the difference in the gut microbiome composition of Yorkshire Terriers dogs with inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). Microbiome analysis of dogs with IBD showed a significant relative abundance enrichment in taxa including Clostridium sensu stricto 1, Escherichia-Shigella, Streptococcus and a decrease in Bacteroides, Prevotella, Alloprevotella, and Phascolarctobacterium compared to healthy controls. However, there was no significant difference in the microbiome composition of dogs in remission and dogs with active disease, indicating a longer-lasting perturbation beyond clinical recovery. Sequencing was performed at the Joint Microbiome Facility of the Medical University of Vienna and the University of Vienna under the project ID JMF-2101-12.
